Na počátku byly INSTRUKCE:
Please find the terms compiled from the term query (Terms in english.xls) that should be left in English
for All languages always remembering that common terms like “others”, “errors” “pre” appears in the middle
of a sentence, than it shall be translated.
I also would like to point out that we shall not add translations between brackets or parenthesis
neither translate leaving the English in brackets or parenthesis
Another issue very important is that you shall keep the symbols as per the source, e.e 4*, ---(
It is very important to note that you can’t change any symbol like * or -
I podíval se zákazník na překlad a viděl, že není dobrý... (nikoli vinou překladatelů, jak už to tak bývá)
I am concerned with your understanding about the terms that shall be left in English. I would like to ask for you to investigate what is behind this instruction.
If you see a string like: *LOW BATTERY ALERT. Replace the battery. Sleep Time=xhxm Sleep Clear.*
The instructions says that you shall left in English since it is between asterisks , but with a minimum investigation you will realize that there is a portion of the sentence that shall be translated: Replace the battery. Sleep Time, Sleep Clear.
Another issue is that you already received the terms that shall be left in English, but it seems that you are not downloading and checking the updated versions.
I found abbreviations translated as: “BG” “HCP”
For product names is so easy to find in Google, if you look for “Precision "Diabetes" The first website that appears is (censored) Website. You don’t need to enter in any website, in Google results you will easily see that Precision is a product and as a product name shall be left in English.
I rozhodl se zákazník promluvit překladatelům do duše:
Please refers to the Term query V9 and find the results, most of yellow lines with column J empty were answered. I still have one pending query that needs further investigation. I was not able to answer line 19 since there is no comment provided in English. Please always provide comments in English since we don’t speak all the target the languages.
As a general comment I would like to raise 3 points for thought and attention:
a) Some of the questions clearly shows that the translator is not able to decode the source text. In other words, the translator is not able to understand not even simple English structures. As examples I can mention cells D14, D20 and D22. This is very serious. Although medical, the content is not that technical.
b) Some of the questions show the vendor is not doing his job at a minimum level, i.e., no Internet research is done. It seems to me this person does not have at least vague idea of what he/she is translating (and you received the localization toolkit explaining exactly what is the project about) and how he/she can try to answer himself/herself before sending us unnecessary queries. Another interesting and sad conclusion is that it seems to me the translator ignores context and cannot think out of the box. Each string seems to be “read and understood" separately. To start this overall contextualization exercise I suggest the vendor visiting (censored) . This way he/she will be able to know the product names and some basic concepts like "what is a strip".
